Marcus Fontaine

Back in 2016, Marcus's colleagues dared him to sign up for a local cycling sportive. Little did he know that accepting that challenge would spark a lifelong passion and completely reshape his identity as an athlete. Over the years of training and competing, what started as casual weekend rides evolved into something far deeper — cycling stopped being just a hobby and became a way of life. While road cycling still has a place in his racing calendar, his heart truly belongs on the gravel and mountain trails, particularly in long-distance endurance events.

Marcus calls Pasadena, California home, tucked in the foothills below the breathtaking San Gabriel mountains. By day he is a High School Mathematics Teacher and co-ed cycling coach, inspiring the next generation both in the classroom and on the bike. His dream adventure is an extended trip through the Swiss Alps and Italian Dolomites, exploring the legendary cycling routes while soaking in the local culture.
